Covenant of Grace Presbyterian Church in America's History Print E-mail

In 1982, Liberty Reformed Presbyterian Church, Randallstown, encouraged members in Reisterstown to start a new congregation in this community. On March 6th, 1983, organizing pastor Herb Ruby and twenty six members from LRP began holding services.

In November, Herb Ruby was called as a pastor, five elders were elected, seventy members were received and COG was officially recognized as part of the Presbyterian Church in America.

Continuing to emphasize the Bible as God's truth, the congregation grew spiritually and numerically. By declaring the whole counsel of God in a contemporary style, people were stimulated to put personal faith into action. "Faith expressing itself through love" was becoming a reality.

By December, 1988 the congregation moved into the present facility. "Every member a minister" was now to be communicated to the next generation.

Our confidence continues so that we will enjoy God's blessing into the new century and beyond as we devote ourselves to being His disciples in our world.
