PURPOSE STATEMENT

Covenant of Grace Presbyterian Church in America exists to glorify the Triune Sovereign God and enjoy the benefits of His gracious love in Christ. We believe that expression of love, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, is the only life-changing truth offering hope to our world. We will share that assurance by preaching the Gospel, by providing an environment of a caring spiritual family centered around the worship of God, by encouraging personal spiritual growth towards maturity in Christ, by equipping God's people for ministry, by leading family, friends, and acquaintances to Jesus Christ, and by serving our local communities and beyond.

SCRIPTURE

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the written Word of God, inerrant in the original texts, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice. Only these Scriptures reveal God's gracious plan of salvation and enable the transformation of hearts, working through the Holy Spirit. We affirm the doctrines in the Scripture are given by God and best summarized by man in the Westminster Standards.

OUTREACH/ EVANGELISM/ ASSIMILATION

We are committed to prepare and send our members to fulfill the Great Commission in our family, community and world. We will proclaim the Gospel in word and deed, helping people understand their need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As the Holy Spirit brings people to faith, we will help in. their growth and seek to make them an active member of God's family at Covenant of Grace.

MISSIONS

Our church believes that God's Kingdom extends beyond the doors of our individual church body. We will challenge our members to go to unchurched people in cross-cultural groups both locally and around the world. In addition, as a church we will pray for, give financial support to, send, and encourage short-term and full-time missionaries that will be used by God to promote His Kingdom.

WORSHIP

We worship to express our love and to glorify and honor the Triune God; seeking to engage the heart as well as the mind; to experience the joy of Christ and the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Using the elements of worship as recorded in and directed by the Scriptures, we affirm our freedom in Christ to arrange the elements and circumstances of worship to express our cultural diversity, balanced with a concern for unity.

YOUTH/ CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

We will seek to prepare our younger children, middle school, high school, and college and career groups for a life of faith in a fallen world. Therefore, we are committed to allocating resources for staffing, support, and facilities to assist parents in creating vibrant ministries for our children and youth. We will seek to build relationships to model the measure of Christ's love for them. We will present God's Word through an age appropriate systematic study and application of Scripture; encourage them to develop God-honoring relationships; and equip them to participate in worship, evangelism and service in the Body of Christ.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH

We believe that when a person comes to faith in Jesus Christ they should, in reliance on the Holy Spirit, continue to build on that foundation to grow into His likeness. As a church trusting in God's grace and in dependence on God's power, we will strive to equip believers to grow and stand strong against the influences of the ungodliness in our society, our sinful natures and the evil one. To accomplish this we will provide opportunities for growth in prayer, Bible study, fellowship, worship, Christian education, discipleship, service, pastoral care, witnessing, and leadership development.

FELLOWSHIP

Fellowship along with corporate worship is essential for Christian growth. We will seek to provide multiple opportunities to meet together in smaller groups to share common interests, meet one another's needs, and enjoy one another in a Christ-centered atmosphere. Therefore, we are committed to allocate resources and develop leadership to encourage every member to participate in fellowship groups.

FACILITIES

As God directs, we are committed to providing the physical plant that will effectively support all of our ministries, as they currently exist and are envisioned for the future as necessary to the execution of the convictions expressed for each area of ministry
